RDT Picker started with a simple, annoying problem. Anyone who has run a giveaway on Reddit knows the drill: a popular thread pulls in hundreds or thousands of comments, and when it is time to pick a winner, you are left scrolling, copying usernames into a spreadsheet, and hoping you did not miss anyone or count someone twice. It is slow, it is easy to get wrong, and worst of all, your community has no real way to know the draw was fair.
We built RDT Picker to fix that. It is a Reddit comment picker made for one job and made to do it well: take a Reddit post, read the comments, and choose a random winner you can stand behind.
What we do
RDT Picker loads the comments from any public Reddit post you point it at. You paste the post URL, decide how many winners you want, set any filters that matter for your rules, and the tool handles the rest. In a few seconds, you have a winner drawn from every eligible entry, with no manual counting and no guesswork.
The filters are where a lot of the value sits. You can require entrants to include specific words or hashtags, which is useful when your rules ask people to answer a question or tag a friend. You can set a minimum comment score to weed out throwaway entries. And you can decide whether replies to comments should count, so nested conversations do not accidentally pull in people who never actually entered. When the draw is done, you can export the results so you have a clean record of who won and who was in the pool.
How a draw works, start to finish
The workflow is deliberately short. You copy the link to your Reddit post and drop it into the picker. You tell RDT Picker how many winners you need, whether replies should count, which words a comment must contain to qualify, and what the minimum comment score should be. Then you press the button. The tool pulls the comments, drops anything that fails your filters, and draws your winner or winners from what is left. If you want to run it again, adjust a setting and go. There is no learning curve to speak of, which matters when you are on a deadline to announce a winner to an impatient audience.
We spent a lot of time on that flow because the tools we used before RDT Picker existed always seemed to add friction where there should be none. A picker should not make you sign entrants up, jump through CAPTCHA loops, or wait on a slow page while it thinks. It should read the thread and give you an answer. That is the bar we hold ourselves to.
Why fairness matters to us
A giveaway is only as good as the trust behind it. If your audience suspects the winner was a friend of yours or that the draw was rigged, the goodwill you were trying to build evaporates. That is why we designed RDT Picker around transparency. Every eligible comment has the same chance of being selected, and the result is easy to show publicly. Plenty of creators screen-record the draw or share the exported entry list so followers can check the pick for themselves. We think that openness should be the default, not a premium extra.
